e-Science Central: Cloud-based e-Science and its application to chemical property modelling
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes the design of a cloud computing platform e-Science Central (eSC) which provides both Software and Platform as a Service for scientific data management, analysis and collaboration. e-SC can be deployed on both private (e.g. Eucalyptus) and public Clouds (Amazon AWS and Microsoft Windows Azure). The SaaS application allows scientists to upload data, edit and run workflows, and share results in the cloud. It is underpinned by a scalable cloud platform consisting of a set of services designed to support the needs of scientists. The platform is exposed to developers so that they can easily upload their own analysis services into the system and make these available to other users. A REST-based API is also provided so that external applications can leverage the platform’s functionality. This paper describes the design of e-SC, focusing on its exploitation of clouds. Its usage is demonstrated by a description of a recent project in which it was used for chemical modeling by cancer researchers. © 2010 University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Nowadays, the great benefits of cloud computing have dramatically increased the number of e-banking users. Hence, the competition in the banking industry has boosted and managers need to evaluate their branches on a regular basis. To this end, this study aims to evaluate cloud-based banking systems based on the Quality of Service (QoS) attributes using the Dynamic Network Data Envelopment Analy...
متن کاملModelling of some soil physical quality indicators using hybrid algorithm principal component analysis - artificial neural network
One of the important issues in the analysis of soils is to evaluate their features. In estimation of the hardly available properties, it seems the using of Data mining is appropriate. Therefore, the modelling of some soil quality indicators, using some of the early features of soil which have been proved by some researchers, have been considered. For this purpose, 140 disturbed and 140 undistur...
متن کاملTarget detection Bridge Modelling using Point Cloud Segmentation Obtained from Photogrameric UAV
In recent years, great efforts have been made to generate 3D models of urban structures in photogrammetry and remote sensing. 3D reconstruction of the bridge, as one of the most important urban structures in transportation systems, has been neglected because of its geometric and structural complexity. Due to the UAV technology development in spatial data acquisition, in this study, the point cl...
